Inspiring open architecture for change.

We believe in the power of community foundations to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world.

Our story

INSPIRE is a global program that helps the world’s most ambitious change-makers define the future.
We provide innovative and effective learning and peer-networking frameworks for community foundations and their support organizations in order to enhance their awareness of opportunities, improve their reputation, and foster their growth.
We power story angles that drive action, turn interest into movements, and keep citizens looking forward in a complex and changing landscape.

What we do

We help you see the world through a different lens, discover fresh opportunities and design initiatives that connect what is with what can be.

We develop learning frameworks and experiences that bridge the gap between knowing and doing. Our success is seeing insights translate into strong practices that deliver community impact.

Offering highly customized support for teams and leaders is where our talent is best invested. We design complete coaching and consulting experiences adapted to your needs and context.

There is power in having the right tools to think and act. We love distilling experience into frames, methods, and processes that make it easier for newcomers and seasoned practitioners to do effective work.

Communities of practice

Sharing the expertise developed through practice is our reward as philanthropy and development professionals. Our program’s way are communities of practice. We facilitate group perspectives to harvest experiences, discover what others are doing and develop a shared understanding of our work.

Thinkfrastructure Conference

The Roles of Support Organizations

We warmly invite you to Thinkfrastructure, a virtual global conversation happening on June 8 – 10, 2021.

On day one, we offer a space for exploration with peers from the field about the role of community foundations as local infrastructure organizations for citizen initiatives and giving.
On day two, we look at the roles of community foundation support organizations. On our third day together, we focus on how we can create a diverse and effective ecosystem of support for community foundation movements.

Who we work with

Community foundations

Seeing community foundations mobilize local assets and create new development opportunities is what drives us.

We provide knowledge validated by our experience of supporting the emergence and consolidation of community foundations.

Support organizations

They have a critical role as catalysts for expansive and well connected community philanthropy movements.

We are learning partners for new support organizations for community foundations, assisting their start-up journey.

Ecosystem partners

We have lasting partnerships with practitioners and philanthropy support organizations who help drive global change.

We collaborate on methodologies, knowledge sharing and reflecting on the community philanthropy ecosystem.

Our impact

Professionals in the INSPIRE network will be the catalysts of their own philanthropy ecosystems.
They will discover new ways to spark the creativity and relevance of community foundations through visionary entrepreneurship, proactive communication, and good process design.
Through critical reflection and exchange with peers, they will easily identify the strengths and limits of their approaches and adapt to future contexts.

Alina Porumb

I love strategy and responding creatively to complex opportunities and challenges. To reach out to diverse cultures and connect ideas, intentions and values with specific practices. I love to do this with our partners and clients, with our team and within my own life.

Alexandra Stef

I like to explore ways of applying systems thinking to learning experiences. Always looking for tools that enable meaningful participation. I help practitioners gather around common questions, designing learning experiences and stewarding communities of practice.

Alina Ionita

I love to understand how local communities participate and shape their future. I am interested in theories of change and evaluation tools to understand how change happens and in sharing these lessons in interesting ways.
